John James Audubon was committed to find and paint all the birds of North America for eventual publication. His goal was to surpass the earlier ornithological work of poet-naturalist Alexander Wilson. His future work was to be called The Birds of America.

Here are 383 illustrations from this work, made by French-American naturalist and artist, John James Audubon together with his son, John Woodhouse Audubon (1812-1862).

This download consists of 383 images, in jpeg format, that are 600dpi and range from 2970 pixels wide/tall by 10168 pixels wide/tall (many on the larger side).
