These are the pictures from Wessex, a 1911 book written by C.G. Harper and illustrated by Walter Tyndale. Wessex was a historical region of southern England, which at its greatest extent included the modern counties of Hampshire, Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire, Berkshire, Devon, and the Isle of Wight, and at times parts of Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Surrey, Sussex, and Kent.
This download features 12 hi-res images, in JPEG format, scanned by us from an original copy of the book. They are all 600dpi and range in size from 2907 pixels wide/tall to 5463 pixels wide/tall.
The pictures are out of copyright and in the public domain, so you are free to use them in whatever way you’d like, including commercial use.
