George Studdy's 'Bonzo' character was a chubby little white pup with sparse black spots, a stubby tail, and big blue eyes. He was first introduced as a nameless dog in the Sketch Magazine in the 1920s and was simply referred to as the Studdy Dog. He appeared in both periodicals and postcards for several years until readers asked what the name of his cute dog was and hence, Bonzo was born.
