The Discontented Pony is a 1951 Ladybird book, written by Noel Barr and illustrated by Percy Bell (P.B.) Hickling. It tells the charming story of a pony called Merrylegs who leaves his home and friends to seek all the excitement of a life as a roundabout horse at a fair.
