An Almanac of Twelve Sports was first published in late 1897 and included a calendar for the following year, 1898. It was written by Rudyard Kipling and illustrated by William Nicholson (1872-1949). Nicholson was awarded a gold medal in the graphic works section of the Art competitions at the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam for his illustrations in this book, published 30 years earlier.
The book features archery, boating, boxing, coaching, coursing, cricket, fishing, golf, hunting, racing, shooting and skating.
This download features 12 hi-res images, in jpeg format, that are all 300dpi and range in size from 3110 pixels wide/tall to 5586 pixels wide/tall.
