Matthew Campbell Veitch
Matthew Campbell Veitch (1865-1925) was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, to Matthew Veitch (b.1838), an iron-monger's clerk, and his wife Inglis Erskine (b.1842).
By 1891, Veitch was working as a newspaper artist, often described as a 'black and white' artist, who produced illustrations, adverts, woodcuts or engravings for publication.
By 1921, Veitch had moved to London and continued his career as an artist there, with his sister Jessie acting as his housekeeper.
One of Veitch's illustrations appeared in The Playbox Annual for 1914.
