Charles Taylor Junior

Charles Taylor Jnr (fl. 1841-1883) was a prominent 19th-century British marine watercolour painter, known for his dramatic seascapes.

He painted stormy coasts at Brighton, Deal, and Yarmouth, Lowestoft and the Thames Estuary, exhibiting widely at the Royal Academy and other societies. He influenced his father, predominantly a history painter, to also paint marine paintings.

He was active in London and was a prolific exhibitor, showing over 70 works in London exhibitions, including 4 at the Royal Academy and 8 at the British Institution.

His works are held in collections, including the National Maritime Museum, and frequently appear at auction.
