Arthur Henry Enock
Arthur Henry Enock (1839-1917) was a landscape artist originally from Glamorganshire, later living in Birmingham in 1882, Dartmouth in 1889, Torquay in 1892, and Newton Abbot in 1900.
He was a self-taught artist who began his career working for a Brazilian merchant in Birmingham. There he studied the Coxes, and during his holidays he sketched at Betws-Y-Coed and around Snowdon.
He exhibited at Birmingham from 1869 to 1910 as well as in London. In about 1890 he turned to art as a profession and moved to Devon, where he was known as 'The Artist of the Dart'. He painted in both oil and watercolour, the latter particularly later in life. He was noted for his handling of mist and sunlight.
He exhibited a total of 74 works, including 13 at RI (Royal Institute of Watercolour Painters), 2 at RSA (Royal Scottish Academy), 1 at RHA (Royal Hibernian Academy), 25 at RBSA (The Royal Birmingham Society of Artists) and various others.
His name is often misspelled as Arthur Henry Enoch but the spelling is certainly Enock.

William Orpen's 'To the Unknown British Soldier in France'
There is a fascinating story about this picture that not only highlights the pomposity and arrogance of the politicians of the time of World War I but has also introduced me to the word 'vainglory', which I hadn't heard before but which is no doubt appropriate for some of today's leaders.
