Laurence Whenman East (1894-1951) was born in Acton, Middlesex in the UK to John East, himself an artist, and his wife Alice Boyd East. He was married to Maria Lilian East (1899-1978).
East served in the Royal Garrison Artillery Regiment in World War I.
He died in 1951.
