Ernest William Haslehust (1866-1949) was a distinguished English landscape painter and illustrator, celebrated for his watercolour works of the towns, cities and countryside of the UK.

Born in November 1866 in Walthamstow, Essex (now part of Greater London), Haslehust was the son of William Henry Haslehust.

He studied at the Slade School of Fine Art in London under Alphonse Legros, where he honed his artistic skills.

He was a member of several prestigious art societies, including the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours (RI), the Royal Society of British Artists (RBA) and the Royal West of England Academy (RWA).

He is best known for illustrating the 36-volume series 'Beautiful England', published from 1910 onwards by Blackie  Sons.

Haslehust's artistic talents extended to poster design, where he created works for the London and North Eastern Railway (LNER) and the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS). His art was also featured in various magazines of the day, including the Illustrated London News and Tatler.

Haslehust died in 1949.
