Donald Roy Sexton Biography
Donald Roy Sexton (1900-1955) was born in Islington, London, on 11th March 1900 to William Sexton (b.1863), a commercial traveller, and Florence L. Sexton (b.1868), nee Jenner.
His siblings include Dorothy (b.1891), Kathleen (b.1895), William (b.1891), Charles E.D. (b.1901) and Marjorie J. (b.1904).
In the 1921 census, he is recorded as being a black and white artist and hard up!
By 1939 he is recorded as an artist in book illustration and was living in Flanders Road, Hounslow, London. Sexton illustrated a version of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland in 1933.
Sexton died in Horsham, Sussex, on 6th November 1955.
