Jeremiah Davison

Jeremiah Davison (c.1695-1745) was a Scottish-born London portrait painter active in the early 18th century.

He is renowned for his meticulously detailed oil portraits of the British gentry, including notable figures such as the Duke of Hamilton. He worked in London before moving to Edinburgh around 1736.

He produced a legacy of skilled, though sometimes lesser-known, Georgian portraits now held in national collections, including the National Portrait Gallery, the National Galleries of Scotland, and the National Trust Collections.
