Maude Angell Biography
Alice Maude Angell (1870-1944) was born in Hornsey, London, the daughter of a George Angell (b.1819), a goldsmith, and his wife Jane (b.1845), a boarding-house keeper. She is usually referred to as Maude Angell.
She was active as a painter, exhibiting at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, Fine Art Society, New Gallery, Royal Academy, Royal Society of British Artists, Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours and the Royal Society of Miniature Painters, Sculptors and Gravers.
Her surname is sometimes incorrectly spelt as ‘Angel’.
