Jacob Alberts (1860-1941) was a German painter known for his evocative landscapes and genre scenes.

Born in 1860 in Westerhever, Germany, Alberts initially pursued a path toward becoming a pastor but eventually turned to art.

He studied at the Art Academy of Düsseldorf under notable artists such as Andreas Müller, Heinrich Lauenstein and Johann Peter Theodor Janssen.  Later, he continued his education at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts under Wilhelm von Diez.

Alberts' artistic journey took him to various places, including Hungary and Florence, where he honed his skills and expanded his artistic vision.  He also spent winters from 1886 to 1890 at the Académie Julian in Paris, a hub for many aspiring artists of the time.  His travels and studies significantly influenced his work, which often depicted serene landscapes and rural life.

Throughout his career, Alberts was associated with the Deutscher Künstlerbund, an association of German artists.
