The Purple Parasol is a novel by George Barr McCutcheon, published by A.L. Burt, in which a cantankerous old man hires a private eye to trail his young wife and her supposed secret lover to the mountains. Toss in some hijinks, a dose of mistaken identity, and a touch of overwrought romance, and the result is this enjoyable story.
