{"title":"Hall, Caroline","description":"\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eCaroline Hall (1892-1946)\u003c\/strong\u003e was born in Sunderland on 5th September 1892 to James William Hall (b.1863), a solicitor, and his wife, Ellen Ross Hall, nee Nelson. Siblings included Barbara (b.1891), Ellen (b.1895), William Nelson (b.1898), and Kathleen (b.1904).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eShe studied at the Sunderland School of Art and, in 1914, was awarded a bronze medal from this establishment for her book illustration and calendar designs.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBy 1921, Caroline was boarding in St John's Wood, London, and working as an artist.
